Addictions Counseling
There is currently no “cure” for addiction. There are, however, a number of effective medical and psychological treatments that have been proven effective in helping individuals to break free from drug addiction and alcohol dependence and live a life of sobriety for the long term.
In addition, people also struggle with compulsive behaviors, such as sex, gambling, pornography, food, binge eating, that are triggered by emotions and experiences that feel unmanageable.
We believe that recovery comes in long-term and sustained efforts at achieving balance, appropriate self-care, healthy relationships and, when applicable, healing from past trauma.
At Great Oak Counseling, we incorporate individual, couple/family and group counseling modalities to ensure that the addiction is treated on individual and systemic levels. We offer therapy based groups to provide the necessary community of support and healing to overcoming addiction.
