Hold Me Tight® Couples Workshop
Limited Space Available – Click here to enroll
Hold Me Tight® Couples Workshop is an educational workshop designed to help you build your relationship, protect your investment in each other, strengthen your connection so you feel important, valued and have a Lifetime of Love.
The Hold Me Tight® program for couples was developed by Dr. Sue Johnson, award winning founder of Emotionally-Focused Therapy (EFT) and author of the book Hold Me Tight: Seven Conversations for a Lifetime of Love, and recently released Love Sense.
EFT is a short-term, structured approach to marital and couples counseling. Research has supported the effectiveness of EFT showing that 70-75% of couples move from distress to recovery and nearly 90% show significant improvements in the quality and satisfaction of their relationship.
Who Should Attend a Hold Me Tight® Couples Workshop?
Hold Me Tight® Couples Workshop: Conversations for Connection makes the benefits of EFT more accessible to couples wanting to strengthen their bond. This program is ideal for couples that love each other but have a hard time maintaining a feeling of closeness or have developed patterns that create separation around certain issues. A secure, loving bond in our most important relationship is essential and this program supports couples in deepening that bond or returning to it if it has been lost.
Some couples may not need marriage counseling to strengthen their connection to one another. Attending the Hold Me Tight® Couples workshop will give them access to research-based information and professionals to help them strengthen their most important relationship. Couples who desire to improve the quality of their relationship are encouraged to attend.
All couples are welcome in this workshop, regardless of marital status, age, faith or sexual orientation. This is an educational workshop and supports therapy nicely but does not replace it if your relationship is in high distress.
Space is limited to 15 couples! To ensure your attendance please register today by filling out the form at the bottom of this page.
What Can I Expect from a Hold Me Tight® Couples Workshop®?
This will be a fun and interactive workshop where participants will learn and practice (privately) what they’re learning with their spouse. Instead of just hearing a bunch of information and going home without any real-world practice, we will help you begin practicing new ways of communicating and sharing with each other. We will use lecture, videos of other couples having the conversations, and private exercises to help you get the most out of the weekend. We want couples to feel safe and comfortable as they learn new ways to relate to each other.
While sharing comments and questions in the large group is usually fun and beneficial, you only share if you want to. You will have lots of time to have conversations with just you and your partner so you can feel comfortable and maintain your privacy.
You will learn and experience how to:
- Affirm strengths in your relationship
- Address negative interaction patterns
- Understand emotions more clearly
- Recognize unacknowledged reasons for your conflicts
- Learn how to repair and forgive
- Enhance your emotional and physical closeness
- Improve your communication & reduce conflict
