Jordan graduated from Southeast Missouri State University in May 2015 with a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy and minors in Psychological Services & Business Law, and again in May 2026 with a Master of Arts in Mental Health Counseling. Jordan completed his internship and advanced internship here at Great Oak Counseling under the supervision of Dr. Travis Smith. He has been admitted to the Education Specialist in Counseling program at Southeast Missouri State University set to begin in Fall 2026. Jordan brings experience through working with children in residential intensive services, and has worked with both youth & adults in psychiatric rehabilitation case management services. Through an existential approach to counseling, Jordan emphasizes the subjective internal experiences of the individual toward self-connection, focusing heavily on empowerment and the will to exercise choice in creating meaningful lives. This philosophical framework also extends directly into his clinical work with youth through an integration of child-centered therapy. By honoring play as a child’s natural form of communication and allowing them to safely lead the therapeutic process, Jordan promotes their autonomy while recognizing and encouraging their internal capacity for self-direction. He plans to begin pursuing his Registered Play Therapist (RPT) certification in August 2026.
